how do i get subsidized child care for my associates degree?

I am a single mom seeking subsidized child care through Cal Works. I have four years left on cash aide but am working on my associates degree so I can begin a career and get off welfare far sooner. The problem I am having is that my job specialist tells me Cal-Works only covers certifcated programs not higher levels of education. This perplexes me as I thought the point was to use welfare to get a hand up in life. Without a degree it’s difficult to secure financial independence. I want to know who I should consult in order to get help with child care while I pursue higher education and thus financial security.

What can Jobseekers and Employment Agencies do to avoid being FOOL by COMPANIES?

When COMPANIES advertise for job openings the salary budget is "Negotiable". Then they get the employment agencies to help them to source for the same openings but setting different salary budgets for different employment agencies to work on. Currently employment agencies “Do Not Disclose Companies Name" to jobseekers they represent. Consequently the same jobseeker may be sending to the same "Company" directly or through different employment agencies with different salary budgets. 1) Now if you are the Company receiving the same CVs from the same jobseeker with different salary budget via different sources what will you think and do with the same jobseeker ? 2) If you are a Jobseeker, do you think you will get the job ? 3) If you are the Employment Agency do you think you can close the deal ? The consequences will be the Companies asking to see more CVs and lose confidence with the jobseekers at large and ended up taking a longer time for employment agencies to close deals. This

You mean I get paid to talk about finance?

Freelance lecturing as a full time job? In April 2008 I left banking to complete my MBA. I've done three optional Economics modules, and have been writing my dissertation with a Q4 2009 deadline which is rapidly approaching (and yes, I've been skiving on MeFi too much rather than writing). Since 2003 I'd had a part time job at a local University, tutoring Masters students on their dissertations in areas aligned with my research interests (Risk Management, Credit Derivatives and Asset Bubbles). While I generally say I only got the job over folks who know the material better than myself as I'm a native English speaker, I accidentally found out this experience was marketable on its own, into the UK higher education sector. As I had some free time and I really enjoying teaching, about one year I created an academic CV with the help of this AskMeFi, I applied to a second University and lucky me, right time, right place. I secured an appointment to teach

How many of China's economic statistics are unreliable?

By AFP News, China has soared almost to the top of the world's economic league tables, but whether the official data underpinning its status can be trusted is a constant headache, analysts say. Simmering unease regarding China's economic figures has taken on new meaning in recent months with discrepancies in some statistics and questions over just how much gross domestic product (GDP) is really growing. Earlier this year, economists took issue with Chinese monthly trade statistics, which diverged wildly from expectations, and two weeks ago official and private purchasing managers surveys -- a key measure of manufacturing -- surprisingly pointed in opposite directions. Doubts have also been raised about how inflation is calculated. "If there was an index for suspicion about China's official statistics, it would be off the charts, or to use the technical American term, 'crazy bad'," Standard Chartered economist Stephen Green wrote in a report. No less an authority than China's
