What jazz artists would you recommend?

I'm a huge fan of Amy Winehouse and Billie Holiday and Norah Jones. I also like Boney James and Alexander Zonjic. I think Dave Koz is a cutie and not just cause of faces of the heart. Although I am a GH Fan. I wanted to listen to the music of Bix Beiderbecke after watching Young man with a horn, But I wasnt sure if any of his records still exist or were even on youtube. I also wanted to get into Bessie Smith, But I didnt know whether to start with the Early Okeh recordings or the ones made before she died. I thought about listening to Fats Waller and Sarah Vaughan, But of course I didnt know what to start with. No rude comments please. I may be 19, But I do know good music. :)

Can you think of any children's albums by good adult artists?

Can you think of any children's albums by good adult artists? (more inside) Most of the albums I've found are bland pablum by musicians like Kenny Loggins, Olivia Newton-John, Linda Rondstadt, Dave Koz, and the like. Where are all the good kids' albums?!? So far, all I can come up with is Harry Nilsson's The Point, Carole King's Really Rosie, They Might Be Giants' No! and Jason "guitarist for Jellyfish" Falkner's Bedtime with the Beatles. I'm not counting compilations (e.g. Saturday Morning Cartoons' Greatest Hits or Schoolhouse Rock! Rocks). And why aren't indie artists making music for kids? (I'd love to hear albums from musicians with a young spirit, like Jonathan Richman, Mates of State, Mirah, Of Montreal, and Ben Kweller.)

What do you think about the racial component of "smooth jazz"?

It seems to me that a disproportionate percentage of the artists who are played on "smooth jazz" radio stations are White, at the expense of equally or more talented Black artists. Am I wrong? My collection has quite a few artists of color as well, but you don't hear (Watercolors on XM) Marion Meadows or Kim Waters or Walter Beasley or Paul Taylor as much as Dave Koz or Richard Elliott or Warren Hill.

regine is more better than mariah..........?

A lot of people compare Regine & MC in here. But to compare as far as who's the better singer, people should not compare their studio performances, but rather their live performances. Most, if not all, of Regine's videos here in YouTube are live numbers, & people tend to compare it w/ MC's CD version. But if you would compare their live performances, Regine is the obvious better singer. Velasquez was well known for her collaboration with Asian star Jacky Cheung for the song In Love With You. She has also collaborated with other international artists including Paul Anka, David Hasselhoff, 98 Degrees , Mandy Moore, Brian McKnight"in all singers ive performed ill put you on top of them", Ronan Keating, Stephen Bishop, Jim Brickman, Peabo Bryson, Jeffrey Osborne, Dave Koz , Lea Salonga, Grasshopper, Coco Lee"diva of ALL DIVA", and Michael Legrand"before i only had one favorite singer referring to barbara but now i have two referring to regine; watch it at youtube"Voice type: Lyric Soprano
