Can I liberate myself from Bell yet?

Is there any chance I can get out of my Bell cell phone contract as a result of their institution of fees for incoming text messages? I purchased a Bell cell phone about two years ago, with a three year contract. Two years later, and I use this thing exactly once a week. I was never happy with the service to begin with; I get a lot of dropped calls, poor reception where other people get fine reception, and the customer service has been terrible. Some of these things may be phone related but when I went back to the store to ask about them, they said all they could do was offer me a $25 discount on a new phone. No thanks. Anyway, the new text messaging fee is sort of the last straw. Now that they want to charge me for incoming messages, I really want to be shot of them. What I am wondering specifically is if this new fee might constituted some sort of breach of my original contract, which did not stipulate per-message fees for incoming texts. If so, will this allow me

liberal artist in the military?

militaryfilter: I'm a 22 year old female with an art history BA, should I join? and which branch? I apologize, this is going to take some explaining... So first off, I don't really have the BA yet. I graduate on December 19th. But I only have three evening classes I need to finish so, not too difficult. I currently work full time as a network technician for my university getting paid such that I am on a very tight budget. I'm working on my CCNA but I meant to finish that a few months ago so... times are tough. It seems to me that despite being a network tech for four years, I'm not going to get a full time job in that field anytime soon. And I have about four years experience working for museums too, and I'm pretty sure I don't want a career in art. I've enjoyed networking much more anyway. Somehow this all leads to: the military. I have not spoken to any recruiters yet but I will try to do that this coming week. I really don't know very much

Must.Save.Earth. But how? I'm a Liberal Arts Major

Liberal Arts Grad. Must live green. Thinking about grad schools for 2012, or "green-collar" career, or starting a biz, or something else random. Already ruled out Law School. Ideas? --Option 1 (seemingly the most likely) - Go to (which?) grad school for (which?) Masters or PhD degree that is environmentally focused. Something environmental is given, but I also have strong interest in Anthropology*, Economics*, Sociology* and Politics. I have nothing against science either. Wouldn't mind taking hard Science courses but I've never officially studied it so not sure how that will roll in most "Science-y" environmental degrees. Also, Law school is right out. *interest but no formal learning in these yet, beyond some intro classes in college and lots of extra-curricular study --Option 2 Instead of an ivory tower education, get something from a Tech/Community college for "green collar" work. Prefer something that I

What is the difference between liberals, communists and parasites?

A cooking show host described the agony of parasites. Christians founded Harvard and all ivy league schools In the 20th century liberals weakened the schools. In the case of parasites, they sickened the body. In the case of schools, they have weakened the schools. Can they be expelled the same way parasites are ending up with healthy institutions of higher learning once more; instead of institutions of the teachings of immorality?

Liberals what good is raising taxes at the rate the government is spending our money?

First, there is no evidence that tax increases will actually solve our troubles. On the contrary, years of data from around the world show that when nations try to solve a fiscal crisis primarily by raising tax revenues, they tend to fail. In contrast, fiscal approaches based on entitlement reform and spending cuts tend to succeed. American Enterprise Institute economists Kevin Hassett, Andrew Biggs and Matthew Jensen examined the experiences of 21 Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries between 1970 and 2007. They found that countries with successful fiscal reforms, on average, closed 85% of their budget gaps with spending cuts. The countries with failed reforms, on average, relied at least 50% on tax increases. President Obama's strategy falls firmly in the latter camp. After discounting the accounting tricks that create fictitious spending cuts, the president's plan would impose about $3 in tax hikes for every $1 in spending cuts. That is, his approa

Why does the U.S. allow Cocaine trafficking, prostitution and corruption in communist Cuba & Liberal Florida?

and , ON THE OTHER HAND, the US bash, criticize, calumniate and defame Mexico!!!! Generally, the liberal US main stream liberal media cheer Cuba and communism ! and clap dictators Castro! But curiously, the US media avoid talking about certain issues... like corruption, prostitution and drug trafficking in Cuba! Anyways, . . . It seems like those who own the US media own the island as well ! However, in Mexico Violence is Terrorism!! Terrorism generated, created, originated and made in USA.! Terrorists, paramilitary commands like 'Los Zetas'- were trained at "La Escuela de las Americas" or "Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation". Hit-men, assassins, mercenaries, terrorists are paid by them... The CIA and MI6. Actually CIA and MI6 have control over all the caribbean islands including communist Cuba -used as base and jump board to smuggle illegal cocaine to Florida. The corrupt communist government of Cuba is involved in Narco-terrorism, but seems like President Obama i

Who can give me a brief summary about this essay(less than 400 words?

THE TWO ROADS TO SERFDOM The governmental and political institutions shaped during the fifty-plus years since 1933 have not been put under siege by the first serious alternative to liberalism this century. Whatever the “Reagan revolution” may amount to in terms of a change of policy direction, it does not amount to a revolution against liberal institutions because nothing about the Reagan revolution was aimed at the overly powerful presidency, the mass base of the presidency, the peripheral (albeit occasionally pesky) Congress, the discretionary agencies, or the cooperative courts. Here are two reasons why. First, liberal national institutions suit conservatives. Conservatism should have tried to tone down the vulgar, mass democracy of the plebiscitary presidency and the immense size and power of the executive branch. But conservatives also need a bully pulpit; if it happens to have been built by liberalism, so be it. This points to the second reason why conservative administrations

Why does the media continue to buy into the myth of ignorant conservatives and enlightened liberals?

In 2001, the Lovenstein Institute released a report claiming scientific proof that liberal presidents were more intelligent than their Republican counterparts. In a press release, the institute claimed that Bill Clinton had an Einstein-like IQ of 182, followed closely by Jimmy Carter and JFK. The Republicans? George H. W. Bush might have been Phi Beta Kappa at Yale, but his IQ was a below-average 98. Lower still were those dunces, Eisenhower and Reagan. George W. Bush (with degrees from Yale and Harvard) was borderline retarded. His IQ was said to be 91--literally half that of Clinton's. A few months later, another study emerged demonstrating that the average IQ of states that had voted for Gore was much higher than those that went for Bush. Connecticut was given an average IQ of 113, while conservative Utah scored an 87. (Again, barely above retarded.) According to these numbers, the 16 smartest states all went for Kerry, while the 26 dumbest went for Bush. These sensational finding

How come the"progressive liberals" are actually regressive, using the same failed policies of FDR?

What could he spend on? That was the problem. There is only a limited number of things on which the federal government can spend. This grows out of the character of the federal system. The federal government can build schools, hospitals, roads, institutions of all sorts. But they are built in cities, counties, states, and the activities which go on in these buildings are within the jurisdiction of the states. The states have to pay the teachers or nurses and staffs, have to support and maintain the roads, and so on. The federal government can spend money on agricultural experimentation, on scientific research, on national parks, on power dams, etc. But in the end the outlays on these things are limited. The one big thing the federal government can spend money on is the army and navy. Roosevelt explained to Farley that he could not spend on local projects because the states and cities did not want any more buildings and institutions which they would have to support. They were having t

How can anyone labeling themselves Christian support Ron Paul given his liberal stance on social issues?

I'm not attacking anyone supporting Ron Paul, I just don't understand their position. Ron Paul has pretty much said in essence that he doesn't care about abortion, whether the institution of marriage is perverted by gays or the legalization of drugs. How can anyone who takes their faith in Jesus Christ serious be for such positions ? Thanks in advance for your answers.

Is the Occupy Wall Street Crowd the result of institutional liberalism in today's schools?

Liberal educators don't believe in tests, or homework, or hurting anyone's feelings by giving them an F, when they FAIL They don't believe in keeping score at sporting events, or expectations, or results... Now we have a entire batch of losers, whining and stamping their feet on Wall Street that life is "so unfair" that they can't snap their fingers and get a 6 figure job, with 15 weeks of vacation, and work from home in the underpants. Has liberalism finally succeeded in destroying America?

Are Liberals responsible for the improved quality of life in the US?

Progressives (Liberals today) always claim that they are responsible for raising the quality of life and standard of living for workers; however, they have only razed the standard of living for average workers by increasing their tax burden. Worker safety, consumer protection, and higher wages came into existence because of agreements between big business and government, in an effort to stymie big business' competition. http://www.townhall.com/columnists/JohnStossel/2006/09/27/big_business_loves_government BTW, in case you where wondering townhall and the Cato Institute are Libertarian organizations, and John Stossel is from ABC news, so you cannot claim this article is Conservative propaganda! Libertarians are the true Liberals of today. Liberals, go hijack some other term to push your socialist agenda! g, I know it's hard for you, but stop breathing through your mouth and try to answer the question. You cannot do this by asking another question. The question is: Are Liberals

How is it that according to a Google Study that Conservatives give more Blood than Liberals?

In any case, if conservative donations often end up building extravagant churches, liberal donations frequently sustain art museums, symphonies, schools and universities that cater to the well-off. (It’s great to support the arts and education, but they’re not the same as charity for the needy. And some research suggests that donations to education actually increase inequality because they go mostly to elite institutions attended by the wealthy.) Conservatives also appear to be more generous than liberals in nonfinancial ways. People in red states are considerably more likely to volunteer for good causes, and conservatives give blood more often. If liberals and moderates gave blood as often as conservatives, Mr. Brooks said, the American blood supply would increase by 45 percent. Is it possible for a liberal to understand the difference between a taxpayer, socialism, and capitalism?

Is it possible for them to ever understand through Fannie/Freddie they gave taxpayer dollars to banks (this is called socialism) and forced them to make loans to people who couldn't afford the homes (the goal of fannie/freddie). When the housing bubble burst, they bailed out the failed institutions (banks) because they backed the loans (government)? And the entire problem is socialism they created (not capitalism) because the banks we're forced to loans money that wasn't theres (theres fear in losing all your own money), but it wasn't theres. It was the taxpayers.
